I. Job Description Onsite Tech Support Scope of Position: This team provides 24×7 support of IT hardware, software, and systems in an on-site and on-call capacity for the Amazon India facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing his or her skills to provide assistance to the operations team in resolving technical problems within the facility that cover a multitude of technical disciplines. Primary Qualifications: o A good understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. o Superior technical aptitude. o Written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people o Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. o Previous experience in which high levels of initiative, judgment, and tact have been demonstrated. o Proven ability to operate in extreme high pressure situations and successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. o Superior Customer Service skills in dealing with all levels in a team environment; o Patience and a sense of humor. Technical Qualifications & Responsibilities: o Linux and Unix System Support & troubleshooting § Ability to navigate through file systems § Knowledge of basic commands and utilities § Holds a basic understanding of core internet technologies â?” DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP and network file systems o Windows System Support & troubleshooting § Install/test/troubleshoot applications § Image and maintain desktop and laptop systems o Networking & Telecom skills § Ability to administer PBX and voice mail systems § Configure and maintain Cisco switches and routers o Data Cabling / Computer Facilities o Create and administer clear, concise documentation to lower the possibility of a repeat problem. o Responsible for the set up, take down and re-location of all Xterms and PC systems in the facility o Provide support and learn the skills needed to support specific FC Automated Systems. o Procurement, Inventory and Asset Management of all IT equipment in the facility o Coordinating with corporate-based support groups to implement global IT changes o Complete ownership of all IT related issues within the facility, and effectively communicate with customers on basic problem resolution If interested, please apply online
