Sr. Security Analyst (IDS/IPS)

Job Description

Responsibilities
The Senior Security Analyst position in Symantec’s Managed Security Services is responsible for assessing security threats and risks involving client infrastructure.
The senior security analyst works within a global analysis 24×7x365 team to further support the timely delivery of monitoring services and support across multiple customers in different geographies across the globe.
This includes troubleshooting and resolution of security issues on behalf of clients. The senior analyst addresses complex or difficult problems as needed, or in conjunction with other team members.
To ensure operational efficiencies analysts are assigned to different weekday and weekend shift schedule, and need to demonstrate abilities to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Desired Profile

·         Assisting in the review of customer security logs on a real-time basis

·         Assessing the impact of traffic on customer networks

·         Adherence to established internal procedures and guidelines

·         Assisting with Security Analyst shifts as required

·         Articulating security issues to customers, both verbally and written

·         Responding to customer security questions

·         Understanding current vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures

·         Conducting research on emerging security threats

·         Contributing to the internal knowledgebase

·         Performing analysis demonstrations for customers

·         Participating in customer conference calls

·         Adjusting the backend technology system

·         Fulfilling more complex ad-hoc queries

·         Mentoring and training security analysts

·         Auditing work results

·         Serving as an internal escalation point of contact

·         Serving in the on-call rotation

·         Identifying opportunities to improve the service
