Department Overview

The Web Delivery department is responsible for providing and supporting public facing web applications for the retail of mutual fund products in Europe, India & Far East. This includes marketing sites that are frequently updated using content management systems and transactional Internet sites for clients and business partners alike to do business. The department’s most significant offerings include Fund Supermarkets called FundsNetwork for the UK and Germany and a whole range of B2B related services to support these for Intermediaries and other Fund Providers.

Job Description

The role of the UI Developer will be to work on the design & development of User Interfaces for the Asset Allocation and other Investment Management suite of applications. The candidate will need to be professional in their approach to their work and exhibit a high level ownership within a demanding working environment.

Key Responsibilities

 Designing the layout of the UI, component placements and look and feel using HTML and related technologies.

 Ensure that UI developed conform to relevant Fidelity UI standards

 Develop a UI prototype for the suite of applications

 Ensure that work performed within the group is supportable and completed within the overall IT strategy of FIL

 Ensure that work is completed to a sufficient level of quality

 Ensure adherence to change management processes and assist in facilitating the ongoing review and enhancement of these processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience and Qualifications

 B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University.

 At least 3.5-7 years of Web designing and development experience in a commercial environment.

Essential Skills

 Strong experience in designing robust enterprise-quality Flex client applications

 OOPs experience with ActionScript 2.0/ 3.0 and Flex 3.0

 Candidate must be able to Design, Develop, Flex applications with Java services

 Ability to use logical frameworks built in ActionScript and Flash (MVC and/or IoC based)

 Have in-depth experience integrating Flash with other technologies

 Developing Flash v2/ FLEX components

 Good experience in Design Patterns & development of UI using FLEX, Java Services.

 Knowledge of various Flex libraries

 Experience designing with Flash, UI Programming Experience – AJAX, DHTML, Javascript, XML

 Experience/Knowledge of interface Flex (blazeDS etc) with other Server side applications

 Working Knowledge of source code management tool

 Any additional experience with Cairngorm frameworks and patterns within Flex/Flash/AIR projects is highly desirable.

 Proficient in scripting using JavaScript, CSS and XSLT

 Experience on other J2EE components like JSP and MVC.

 Under standing of the Struts framework.

 Understanding of internationalisation aspects

Desirable Skills / Experience

 Experience/Knowledge implementing Web Services

 Proficient in Web Site Design, solid understanding of Web infrastructure.

 Experience & good understanding of full development life cycle.

 Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
