Position : Pre-Sales Systems Architect/Engineer

Expereince: 3+ years

Work Location – Bangalore

Work Timing : 6:00pm onwards

Qualification: BE/MCA/Mtech

Job Decription :

Sun Solaris Pre-Sales Systems Architect/Engineer with Virtualization experience in Solaris 10 and VM Ware. Experience with Solaris 10 & related Sun Enterprise Storage.

The engineer will assist sales reps with both pre and post-sales opportunities (90% pre-sales to 10% post-sales) to the Sales Reps and Business Development Consultants.

Experience with Solaris 10 Administration, Sun Systems Integrations, Installing, Adapting software to the system, Backups, Recovering lost data, deployed production systems in high availability environments, large enterprise Solaris servers, patching process dependencies, security patch clusters, documentation, SMF, and related Sun Hardware. Experience with Solaris 10 & related Sun Enterprise Storage.

Typical work will include the following:

Assists sales reps in identifying and interpreting key customers’ current and future needs in systems applications. Provide solutions that are appropriate, feasible, cost effective and creative.

Provides technical advice on proposals, tender responses, short and long range product roadmaps.

Prepares and delivers technical presentations and demonstrations to customers remotely and on site.

Performs benchmarks tests to demonstrate competitiveness and provide system tuning advice.

Provides products training to Sales Force, New Hires and Partners and Resellers conduct specialized technical training to build up specialized technical skill sets of partners’ engineers.

Manages demo room and loaner equipment.

Facilitate long-term customer relationships through the delivery of technical solutions to customer business problems.

Generate SALES revenues by providing advanced technical design and proposals.

Maintain technology expertise & currency in Solaris and Sun Hardware.

Expertly deliver Sun solutions to customer base.

Working with Channel vendors to learn new products

Required Skills:

3+ years of experience in Information Technology Infrastructure design, development and deployment, either as a Solaris Administrator and/or a Storage Architect and/or Expert Storage Administrator with pre- sales experience.

Required Expertise:

* Experience with Solaris 10 Containers/Zones and L-Doms - Successful Virtualization deployment

* Demonstrate ability to maintain and expand expertise in Solaris & Sun Hardware technologies.

* Able to communicate their current features, benefits and other intricacies of these technologies to our customers in a coherent and organized manner.

* Demonstrate strong documentation skills in the development of deliverables such as statements of work, design specifications, proposal and training materials.

* Demonstrate implementation expertise in Solaris 10 and with the latest Sun hardware (T series, X series, Fujistu).

* Demonstrate ability to maintain and expand upon their expertise in the midrange (6000 series) and High-end (9000 series) SUN storage technologies.

*Demonstrate implementation expertise for direct and SAN connectivity.

Desired Expertise:

* Experience implementing Sun, Veritas (VCS & NBU), * Vmware

* NetApp Hardware/Software

* Experience with current SUN storage arrays and software

* Storage assessment training

Experience with current EMC/Hitachi storage arrays and software

Experience implementing Sun, Veritas (VCS & NBU), VMware

Desired Certifications: Sun Certified Solaris 10 Administration

Any current certifications in one or more of the following:

Sun Storage Elite and/or SNIA (SCP, SCSE, SCA), NetApp (Professional/Expert), SNIA (SCP, SCSE, SCA), Brocade/Qlogic, Hitachi Storage, Veritas, VMware or Citrix certifications highly desirable.
